The price of basic food such as wheat has been steadily rising for a few years, and over the last month, the price has absolutely skyrocketed. What is going on with food prices, and, more importantly, where is this all headed?
To answer those questions, we need to speak with a person who has been spot on for years about what’s happening with food in the US and globally, so Kansas Wheat Farmer Brian Ochsner joined Paul “Half Dollar” Eberhart on Thursday, March 10, 2022, for a robust discussion on the current state of the American food supply.
Some of the topics in this discussion include:
What is going on with the price of wheat right now?
Are the days of the 500-mile loaf of bread still numbered, and has anything changed with this outlook over the last month?
Is there enough food to go around, and is one of the main concerns still affordability?
What are we to make of all of the talk about import and export bans, which includes talk about banning grains, such as wheat, and fertilizer?
How long can a box of generic pasta stay the same price at the grocery store?
Is food rationing or price controls coming to the United States?
