Why I Voted to Choose Life, Rather Than Women’s Rights

An Open Letter to Van Jones, and every other liberal in America who can’t understand why I voted for Donald Trump…

I’d like to introduce you to my 3rd son, Noah.

Noah, my 3rd son, was still-born. His heart stopped beating and he stopped growing at an estimated (via ultrasound) 13 weeks gestation.
My wife chose to carry him until her body finally went into labor where she delivered him naturally around 18 weeks.

noah

Noah should have turned 2 years old yesterday, the day Donald Trump was elected President of the United States.

To most of the world, and nearly all of you reading this, Noah never existed.
To most of the world, Noah is and was nothing.

When he died, no one noticed.

Noah had no visiting hours, no funeral.

Only a small handful of close friends messaged or sent a card.

“Just a fact of life”,  I was told by family. “You can try again.”

The heart of a father knows differently. The heart of a father is breaking again as he types these words, tears running down his face.

The heart of a father yearns to hold his son.

The heart of a father is devastated he will never know his own son.

What was he like?

Was he strong, tough, independent, and never afraid to speak truth like his oldest brother?
A soft-hearted comedian like Eli?
Out-going and always joyful like his little brother Ezra?

The heart of a father is crushed he won’t ever know his son Noah.

We tried again.

We have a 4th son, Ezra – our Rainbow Baby, and the joy of our life. If we hadn’t lost Noah, Ezra never would have been.
I can’t imagine life without Ezra.

And yet, Ezra doesn’t replace Noah.  There’s still a Noah sized hole my heart.
A hole that doesn’t go away or shrink with time.

The heart of a father remains just as broken over the loss of his unborn son he never knew, as if he lost one of the 3 sons he has known and raised.

How much more the heart of the Father that knows Noah intimately?

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” -Jeremiah 1:5

Our Father knew Jeremiah before he was even formed in the womb, and because He knew him – He chose Jeremiah and set him apart as His prophet.

The heart of a Father views Noah differently than our “modern and advanced” world.

To the heart of a Father, Choosing LIFE is the MOST important thing.

Just before His people entered the promised land, the Father urged and pleaded with His people to CHOOSE LIFE:

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that you and your children may live. – Deut 30:19

America believes the Father’s ways and thoughts are outdated.

A woman has the right to choose what happens to her own body, a baby has no rights before he is born, and all.

The heart of the Father says His ways are not outdated, and they never change:

For I am the LORD, I change not. – Malachi 3:6

The Father also warns against calling evil good:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20

Hillary Clinton supports partial-birth abortion.  Donald Trump does not.
Democrats are currently supporting legislation to repeal the Hyde Amendment – which prevents the use of Federal Funds for abortion.

Were the Hyde Amendment to be repealed, my federal tax dollars would be used to slaughter the unborn innocent, making me and every other tax-paying American complicit in the murder of the innocent.

The Father commands me to speak on behalf of the voiceless:

Speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable. – Proverbs 31:8

The Father is FOR LIFE. He chooses life…even for the wicked who hate Him and His ways!

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. – 2 Peter 3:9

You may be more concerned about women’s rights, climate change, the economy, or a number of other issues.

The Heart of a Father thinks differently.

The Heart of THE Father says Choose Life.
