Here’s a Sunday afternoon Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak update, including number of cases, death toll, China sealing off the capital city and a whole lot more…
(Silver Doctors Editors) Here’s a round-up of some of the latest regarding the potentially globally pandemic in nature Wuhan Coronavirus.
Multiple nations are evacuating citizens out of Wuhan:
A quick Google search informs us Wuhan is the capital city of Central China’s Hubei Province, and in 2018 it had a population of over 11 million.
In a Sunday morning update by Reuters, we learn the virus is strengthening:
BEIJING/SHANGHAI (Reuters) – The ability of the new coronavirus to spread is strengthening and infections could continue to rise, China’s National Health Commission said on Sunday, with more than 2,000 people in China infected and 56 killed by the disease.
Health authorities around the world are racing to prevent a pandemic after a handful of cases of infection were reported outside China, including in Thailand, Australia, the United States and France.
Bloomberg has some pretty good outbreak maps and charts to check out:
The death toll keeps climbing.
Canada has a “presumed positive” case of Wuhan Coronavirus:

Notice the term “Novel Coronavirus”.
The virus has gone by many names, including, Wuhan Virus, Wuhan Coronavirus, Novel Coronavirus, and 2019-nCoV, and it is likely one of those terms becomes the dominant term in the media.
OC Health Care Agency Confirms First Case of Novel Coronavirus in Orange County, California
(Santa Ana, CA) – The OC Health Care Agency’s (HCA) Communicable Disease Control Division received confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this evening that an Orange County, California case has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The case, a traveler from Wuhan, China, has been in contact with the HCA and was provided guidance in order to reduce exposure to the public while awaiting laboratory confirmation from the CDC. The individual has now been transported to a local hospital and is in isolation in good condition.
In consultation with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health, the HCA is following up directly with all individuals who have had close contact with the case and are at risk of infection.
The HCA will be monitoring any close contacts and assure that proper evaluation and care is provided if they become ill.
The CDC’s guidance indicates that people who have casual contact with a case (in the same grocery store or movie theater) are at minimal risk of developing infection.
There is no evidence that person-to-person transmission has occurred in Orange County.
The current risk of local transmission remains low.
No additional details about the case will be released at this time.
The first U.S. case was in the state of Washington, the second case in Chicago, and now, this third case brings California in to the affected areas of the United States.
With the impeachment out of the news for a day, CNN is putting full focus on the Wuhan Coronavirus late Sunday morning:
Virus can spread before symptoms show.
How nice of them to let us know several days too late!
Of course, we discussed this very thing and a whole lot more on Friday’s Silver Doctors Live:
We also discussed how the virus outbreak can effect the markets and the economy, and so far, our analysis has been spot on, from the fact that the virus can spread even though an infected person is not showing signs or symptoms of being infected, to a run on “n-95 masks”, which is clear at retailers in the U.S, with many retailers being out-of-stock.
Here’s a typical example of what is found online, searched here at Walgreens:
Out of stock online, and a crap-shoot in stores.
The World Health Organization, still, appears to be blowing this off as no big deal, with their latest update/statement being, still from Thursday, January 23rd!
The WHO may not be updating the public, but the alternative media is!
If you are not familiar with the virus, the actions being taken by various governments and agencies in response to the outbreak, or the latest numbers reported, it is recommended to watch his videos (embedded below) in order.

Well, this is a report I really hoped never to write. But we all need to get our head on straight around this fast-spreading viral outbreak.
A pandemic is #3 on my personal “oh shit” list (a prolonged grid-down event is #2, and a global world war with nukes is, by far, #1)
Once a pandemic spreads to my neck of the woods, I’m not going to be doing anything in the company of strangers. No shopping, no going to restaurants, and especially no traveling in closed up metal tubes with recirculated air (i.e. planes and trains).
I won’t be alone in those behaviors. How many airline pilots, train conductors, trash collectors, and medical personnel have to call in “sick” to disrupt the entire system? Not that many.
So why is this Wuhan New Coronavirus (officially “2019-ncov”) a substantially more dangerous threat than the standard flu
Finally, while not from today, Sunday, but days ago, here’s and example of Chinese efficiency, From Sky News.
