  • $1 is 5%. Are you interested in a 5% haircut on your entire stack? I am interested in the opposite. Wanting it, working it, making it happen.

  • WOW, all in on a little run of $1...good luck with all that, probably won't even cover your premium and shipping but if YOU are happy with it then more power to you. I think everyone should do what THEY are comfortable with and not what the "guru's" want you to do, remember opinions are like a..holes, everyone has one and most stink :)

  • Today, twice at 1% above the bottom, I ended up going all-in again through a local dealer 60% and 40% SD Bullion. This was a time for getting lots of ounces, and stuff you must have to replenish flipping stock or whatever your strategy is. Fancy coins (>$4 over spot) dig hard into your ounce potential when under $20 spot. Especially when generics are to be be had for little more than $1 over spot. $21 vs $24 is 15% of silver purchase power. The extra premium needs to be worth it. In my case, Silver Shield stuff, is. For now. I really want to diversify my purchases more, but if you're looking at higher shippings costs (SD Bullion agreed to combine with an open order I had with them, awesome) and at least $1 more per ounce for so-so looking generics....I have a hard time justifying that. Apmex has a great range, but they punish you hard for buy one each. Even if you want to buy 100 different ounces. So I haven't manned up for that yet. Will take cheaper ounces for now. Wh...

  • Getting Silver from a Bank?
    April 24, 2014 05:56 pm
  • CRH is spotty at best. I have only found a few, (1 dime, no halves or quarters, 2 or 3 nickels) But I have found 2 dimes and 1 or 2 nickels in change, and 1 quarter. So I have better luck with pocket change! But keep trying, if you have time. And WELCOME TO SD, Carlos!!!

  • Welcome aboard, Carlos. Good luck searching rolls of coins, I have done a bit of this and mostly come up empty-handed.  But you may get lucky.  Sometimes I have spotted the white edge of a silver half in the bank teller's tray and gotten it for $0.50. Cheers!

  • New to the site. I am also a newly started roll hunter. I thought I would share with you guys. in a two week span before roll hunting I was able to spot a coin that looked different than all the quarters in the associates till when receiving change. I asked the associate if I could have it back in change. It was a 1958 quarter! That same weekend went to the car-wash inserted 10 bucks and got a silver quarter back in change!!! I have not been as lucky searching rolls. I will purchase a box of dimes. Hope I find at least 1 silver coin. Carlos

  • Hey, who's yanking silver spot prices around?  Below $19 this morning and then whiplashed up about $1 instantly.  Is there someone behind the 2-way mirror, pulling levers and strings?

  • Looks like Quality Silver Bullion(http://qualitysilverbullion.com/silver-bullion/silver-rounds) has decent prices and selection on 1oz and fractional. Were ranked top 10 on Silver Monthly and don't have any complaints with BBB but haven't tried them out myself.

  • Anyone know good places other than Provident and SDB for low cost assorted silver rounds? I really tried to like APMEX, but if you like diversity (few each) they are just way expensive.

  • I've been bitten by a number of women over the years, and I totally loved it, but those are stories for a different kind of forum.    Those deer flies and horse flies that they have in Colorado are almost as bad as the flies you complain about.  Is there any sort of preventative you can use, or treatment for when nasty insects do get you?

  • @Mary B , years ago I spent a week with a friend paddling around lakes in Northern Minnesota's  Boundary Waters.  Yes I remember the mosquitoes & blackflies, and the fishing SUCKED.  But such a beautiful place!   Imagine my surprise when a number of years afterwards I found myself in an area of Russia ~300 from Moscow, in a place that looked almost exactly the same - complete with white birches, mosquitoes and blackflies!  Had a great time though; life is more about collecting experiences than accumulating 'toys.'   (Note:  Round, shiny objects are NOT considered toys.)

  • I don't think doc would complain to much about a few private deals carried on here. If he did he would post rules saying NO SALES
