SD Reader Attempts to Obtain Tungsten Filled Gold Coins From ChinaTungsten Online

In the wake of last week’s report of tungsten filled gold bars discovered in Manhatan’s jewelry district, and our subsequent discovery of this Chinese firm openly advertising tungsten filled gold products, an SD reader has contacted the Chinese firm to see just how easy it is to acquire tungsten filled gold coins.

Full details below:

Doc, I thought your readers might be interested in this exchange. I asked ChinaTungsten Online if they would mint tungsten

Chinatungsten Online

Apparently the ‘very professional‘ ChinaTungsten Online currently only has the capability of forging fake bars and flat rounds, and not the detailed government coins.
As we are confident ChinaTungsten is not the only Chinese manufacturer of fake bullion products, we continue to recommend our readers purchase their gold and silver bullion directly from reputable dealers who obtain their inventory fresh from the mints and refineries.

Comments

  1. Why don’t you ask them if they have access to a press, and offer to provide dies which match US 1-oz gold eagles?

    • Just realize the Secret Service covers items like currency fraud.  This is probably why the counterfit used an overseas non-mint type of issue.  The governments of the world do not take lightly any forgery of their mint marks especially on something worth $15,000 or $20,000.

  2. Well, this sure is encouraging. Words like: “very professional and serious company,” now have a new meaning. Of yeah; “Please do not use our tungsten gold-plated or tungsten alloy golden-plated products for illegal purpose.” Is that supposed to be the disclaimer? Is it just me, or is the world lost its ever-lovin’ mind???

  3. I have been seeing a huge increase of fake Morgans on ebay, way to many BU coins showing up cheap and none have been sent in to a grading company.

  4. That Chinese company is allowed to openly advertise its gold filled with tungsten bars as long as its bars are marked somewhere that they are fakes. Most of the bars from this company are not marked properly which mislead a lot of gold investors and that’s not good!

  5. so the Chinese are producing fake coins filled with tungsten. The US treasury is producing $45bil of worthless paper each month that’s not even shiny and yet no one even takes notice.
