HR 459, better known as Ron Paul’s Audit-The-Fed bill has passed the US House.

From Bloomberg:

  • *FED AUDIT BILL OPPOSED BY BERNANKE GAINS APPROVAL BY U.S. HOUSE

  • *FED AUDIT BILL NEEDS SENATE APPROVAL, PRESIDENT’S SIGNATURE

  • *FED AUDIT BILL SPONSORED BY REPRESENTATIVE RON PAUL OF TEXAS

Before readers get too excited, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has advised he will NOT BRING UP THE MEASURE IN THE SENATE.
This means that no audit of the Fed is in fact imminent, but MSM media attention has at least momentarily been squarely placed on the den of thieves after 30 years of effort from Ron Paul.

  3. This should be a litmus test for who is corrupt.  I guess 99% of politicians are, but really corrupt. I saw ren and stimpy or steny hoyer or whatever his name is trying to pursued others against it.  What a complete joke that was..

  4. I’d like to see one of these bozos explain why having facts about what the Fed is doing in OUR country is a bad thing.  Most of us are not asking for congress to take over the Fed.  It’s unlikely that any of them know their arse from their elbow in terms of banking, finance, and economics so would not do any better than what is already being done.  But we sure as heck DO need to know what these people are doing.  When they screw up, which is often, WE get to pay the bill for it.  Because of that they OWE us the truth.  If they are breaking any laws, we need to know that too and act on it.  Illegal behavior SHOULD have consequences.  When it does not, we get LOTS more of it than we would if it was appropriately detected and the perps punished.
