Even more disheartening is that reviving the American dream just became nearly impossible to do. We are now a nation in which supports dependency rather than independence. Instead of encouraging self-reliance we are encouraging people to rely on the government.

I’d like to know where everyone who now has to buy insurance, is going to come up with 700-3000 dollars more a month to pay for it?
Should we implement a program like this, when there’s 0% unemployment, and everyone can afford a new corvette?
Personally as an American, I should have the right to REFUSE and or NOT USE the AMA system. I would sign any waiver, that would allow me to take 100% personal responsibility of my own health. If I choose to get treatment, I will pay for it like any other business transaction.

Great post Silver Hawk I think the same way and have decided that if the MF’ers in the gummint tell my I have to pay my gummint mandated insurance to that pack of wealth distributing kleptocrats they can go to hell. I will pay for my own medical treatment. If they say I am not allowed a medical treatment because I’m some old F*** who’se going to get a shiny new Soylent Green ticket from the Medicare Nazi Death Panels; no problemo. I will go to another country to get treatment I hear Costa Rica and Uruguay are nice this time of year. The Maine Governor’s head is in the right place but he has his Nazis a little confused The DHS, headed up that rug munching beast in her shiny new red custom tailored shower curtain jacket, Chaz Napolitano; she’s the Gestapo. Hey Chaz, if your reading this—go F yourself with a McCulloch 24 inch chain saw. The IRS are the Waffen SS complete with their little shiny hats. The Maine Democrats don’t like Page and boy is he tough, one great Governor. I’m glad I voted for him. He has vetoed many bills and clamped down on spending since taking office and long may it continue.

You guys need to get real. USA had the worst health care system of every industrialized nation on earth. We are talking about people who were too poor to get something as necessary as health. Obamacare is not perfect, in fact it should have been 100% public instead of giving money to corporations, but it’s still a step in the right direction. We are talking about humans who were dying or indebted for life only because they were sick. Get real. This is a good thing.

As for Socialized medicine a Big No For Me and that’s what it is.
I was raised in the UK and have used the hospitals there and I have family members that have been waiting over two years for an operation. I had a sister that was on the waiting list but died before they could get to operate, angry darn right I am.
All through my working years I have paid into the system either through a job or private insurance and I have always been taken care off.
As for the so called poor people you are talking about, They are Never Turned Away from the hospitals and will always receive emergency care.
IT really gets to me when people want something for nothing like the Welfare State here in Maine.

That is just the propaganda that most people believe in. The US spends the most $ per capita, yet has one of the lowest life expectancy ages in the industrialized world. Health care should be about prevention, but the focus in the USA has always been health management (of symptoms) for the most profits.
The best health care comes from people that can treat and cure diseases without resorting to man-made drugs and/or surgery, which unfortunately are the only arsenals available to modern conventional medicine.
