Do you suppose the Germans are interested in paper silver for their solar power system which is to replace their nuclear infrastructure by 2022?

Germany’s solar power plants produced a record 22 gigawatts of energy on Friday, equivalent to the output of 20 nuclear plants. The country is already a world-leader in solar power and hopes to be free of nuclear energy by 2022.

The director of the Institute of the Renewable Energy Industry (IWR) in Muenster, northeast Germany, said the solar power delivered to the national grid on Saturday met 50 per cent of the nation’s energy quota.

“Never before anywhere has a country produced as much photovoltaic electricity. Germany came close to the 20 gigawatt (GW) mark a few times in recent weeks. But this was the first time we made it over,” Norbert Allnoch told Reuters news agency.

The German government decided to turn its back on nuclear energy last year after the Fukushima disaster and plans to be nuclear-free by 2022. Critics have rounded on the initiative, skeptical that renewable sources can meet the nation’s growing energy needs.

“This shows Germany is capable of meeting a large share of its electricity needs with solar power. It also shows Germany can do with fewer coal-burning power plants, gas-burning plants and nuclear plants,” stressed Allmoch.

Merkel’s government has invested large amounts of money in restructuring the nation’s energy infrastructure and weaning it off atomic energy. It has almost as much solar power energy units as the rest of the world combined and currently generates four per cent of its annual energy needs from the Sun.

Solar power may not be the ‘be all–end all’ of silver use but each panel sequesters takes it portion of silver off the market for 25 years.   Each panel uses 20 grams, 2/3 of an ounce.  Present solar panel silver use is about 60 MOZ with projections of 100 MOZ by 2015.  That’s roughly 90 million panels.  With nuclear power on the wane for many reasons, silver solar uptake is expected to grow by 17% a year through 2020.  100 MOZin future demand  is 15% of annual production in present day terms  in an era where miners are struggling to keep up with present day demand.

    History shows that JP Morgan cut off funding for Tesla’s work when the above possibility was postulated.

Tesla was truly amazing.  The things he came up with, YEARS before those who actually got credit for it (Edison, Marconi and others) or which were trashed by his “peers” who didn’t understand the technology.  Kind of sad, actually.  And yes, Morgan pulled funding and there are rumors that some of those “peers” and “patrons” may have been involved with the distruction of his lab as well.

    Of course, the fact that among other things I believe Morgan had massive investment in the making of copper wire to be used for the transmission of electrical power would have NO BEARING whatsoever on any of this.

I don’t see Solar Power being the answer to their needs in Germany, yes it will help with the use of Silver and raise the PM market but eventually I see them moving to Natural Gas along with the rest of the Western World as that will be the next big thing the Elite will latch on to when they are kicked out of the PM Market and still have their Cartel. Just my thoughts and here to learn. Feed Me, Feed Me. Lol

  5. Solar in Germany is stupid.  I LIVED in Germany in the winter.  ITS CLOUDY< DREARY, and F ing MISERABLE if you are working 10hrs a day, and go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. 

    1st stupid thing,  Winter cloud cover in the valleys, is a low ceiling, and for most the winter dense.  THAT is where the majority of the solar panels are.  

    2nd, The days are short in the winter, very short. 

    3rd,  They have mountains, which they could put the panels on, that are the correct facing direction, and they do not do this.  Instead, they put it on good aridable soil, wasting lots of acreage.  They do put it on roof tops, which is smart.  

    4th, Germans power usage in the summer is low.  ALMOST NO German households have airconditioning.  Winter heating is typically with oil.  Electric heating is somewhat common.

    BELIEVE ME<  I LIVE 100% on solar, in the Caribbean.  Even here, where rarely cloudy week goes by, in the winter I notice my batteries are not as a healthy charge as the long summer months.  In the winter, I augment cloudy cold fronts with wind generation.  The Germans would be better suited to put the panels high in the mountains, or in Italy, and transfer the power to Germany.  Hell, Dam up a few river valleys and put Hydro in.  One smart thing the Germans are doing is wind power.  AND BOY do they have some windy places. 

    Probably one of the best wind farms I have seen is in Aruba.  Perfect place for Wind Power.  15-25 mph winds nearly year round.  They love it, and now installing more.  The land is not wasted as you can’t grow crap other than cactus and aloe in Aruba.

    The moral of my rant, generating the type of power suitable for your local environment is the most prudent/efficient way.  Aruba great for wind and solar.  Germany, STUPID for solar, smart for wind, smart for Hydro if they flooded some Bavarian villages, probably tidal, as I would assume the tidal swings on their northern coast has to be huge.  Good part of Germany record is they can sell the power into the grid of Europe.
