@MaryB: I think we’re outnumbered, but I do almost always pay in cash. That makes us tear-or-ists, you know. These machines were transformed last night, I shopped there yesterday. I am looking at it as an indicator of all hell about to break loose. We shall see.
Debit, credit, SNAP and EBT cards are the most common means to buy staples. With a flip of switch or bank holiday, things will get really nasty. The vast majority of these cards and government transfer payments are control by 3 banks, JPM, B of A, WFB. All these banks are being hit with strong cyber attacks from Iran and China. They are also directly connected to TPTB in the government who calls the shots as to whether you can buy food or not.
If things get nasty, that Kill Switch will be aptly named. This electronic card BS does not work to our favor, aside from the fact that it puts us in debt and costs the consumers tens of billions in exchange fees and interest. It is a very effective form of control. If the switch is pulled, most people in this country will accept any form of control to keep the fridge filled and the lights on.
Well, I was in Future Shop (in western Canada) on Saturday and the cashire wouldn’t take cash!!!!
As a biz owner – I ‘get’ why biz’s would take card only at self serve stations as 9/10 times you see a hold up with a line it’s because the cash has jammed up, and with our new $20′s – would cost thousands of $$$’s for biz to upgrade each machine to accept.
BUT A ‘CASH’IER who doesn’t take cash?!!
Not sure how the US banks limit personal withdrawals thru ATMs there. Here I’m limited to $400 cash a day- regardless of how much is in account! ex. if I have 15k in account – I can spend all 15k with debit purchases paying bills online, buying in stores etc – but if I want cash (thru ATM) I’m limited to $400! Thru teller I can withdraw more – but depending on cash value I want to withdraw – teller has on occasion had to get supervisor to approve!!! And if I withdrawn say 2k at bank branch & then find another cash deal I want to grab – if I go to ATM – it tells me “I’ve already had my cash limit for day”!!!!
Can you say ‘friggin annoying’?!?!!
we are SO much more under higher ups control then anyone wants to admit, think about or talk about, after all – Canadians are polite sheoples!!!
I had a WalMart cashier refuse to take a $100 bills when I was buying supplies for my annual BBQ. I had $400+ of food in 2 carts and a third stuffed with pop/water. I finally made her get a store manager who told her to use the damn pen on the bills and take them if they were good. She wasn’t new either, I had been thru her line a couple months before. She was fired after I checked out for refusing to take cash. Manager found out she had been doing it all day and some people got disgusted and left carts full of food sitting and went to a different store.
Well, I went grocery shopping again yesterday (Haagen Dazs dark chocolate for dinner, the whole pint!), and the sticky tape saying debit/credit only that the machines had been swathed in was gone, made the pay with the fiat. It must have been a test run. I just realized something, why would there be sticky tape printed saying debit/credit only, they used rolls and rolls of it, means there’s rolls and rolls more out there.
Digital money is easier for the gov to keep track of. I need to start pulling out cash and hiding it away for an emergency, but we haven’t been in a good place to that for awhile. Move to a city with no Navy cred, so need to look for a new banking system. I don’t think people know how to make change anymore, it’ll be a lost art soon.

" Maybe some are asking why they are getting rid of pennies. Well, I know one reason, it's because nobody uses them that much.
