CIA Director Brennan Takes Oath on Draft Constitution- Minus the Bill of Rights!

Biden Brennan oathAs SD readers already knew, it appears that Rand Paul was 100% correct in his fears that incoming CIA Director John Brennan and the rest of the Obama Administration plan on using drone technology to target and murder American citizens without due process.

VP Joe Biden swore in Brennan on Friday in an extraordinary way.  In an unprecedented request, Brennan and the Obama Administration requested that Brennan be sworn in on an original draft of the US Constitution, dated in 1787 and written by George Washington.
The problem?  Noticeably absent from the draft is the Bill of Rights which were enacted in 1791.

The obvious implication is that the Obama Administration and John Brennan apparently believe that the entire Bill of Rights do not need to be upheld.
This is not only shocking, but completely unprecedented.

From the WhiteHouse:

Vice President Joe Biden swears in CIA Director John Brennan in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, March 8, 2013. Members of Brennan’s family stand with him. Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution, dating from 1787, which has George Washington’s personal handwriting and annotations on it.

Yahoo has even picked up on the massive significance, and the fact that the Obama Administration emphasized the symbolism of the document used:

Hours after CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office – behind closed doors, far away from the press, perhaps befitting his status as America’s top spy – the White House took pains to emphasize the symbolism of the ceremony.

“There’s one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,” spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters gathered for their daily briefing. “Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington’s personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.

Earnest said Brennan had asked for a document from the National Archives that would demonstrate the U.S. is a nation of laws.

“Director Brennan told the president that he made the request to the archives because he wanted to reaffirm his commitment to the rule of law as he took the oath of office as director of the CIA,” Earnest said.

Below is reportedly the copy of the Constitution the Obama Administration used for the ceremony:

  1. Oath on the Bible, Oath on The Constitution, Oath on the Bill of Rights. What does it matter, he’s still going to do what he’s told to do, no matter if it’s Right or Wrong.

    • He seems to be looking for a thin veneer of authentication for the misdeeds that he knows are coming.  While this is what a lawyer would normally do, it will fail utterly to protect his sorry butt from the righteous wrath of the American people.  Justice WILL be done upon him and all others of his ilk… all in good time, of course.

  2. This site is becoming damn pitiful.  Judging by recent posts and lack of posts, I think many agree.  Hopefully my feedback won’t get me banned as it would on other sites.

    • Well, post some meaty content we can talk about.

    • Well you must be on some bad sites if you get banned for that post. Lol  As flying wombat says post some decent comment and hopefully you weren’t referring to my post above yours. Lol
By the way this is Saturday and tomorrow is Sunday and nothing much is happening in the news but if something comes up we will be sure to let you know. You must be having a bad day Stacksmack. Lol

    • Stacksmack, What are you talking about?  Brennan’s history is rather interesting and I find it even strange that so much effort went into a swearing in ceremony that was PRIVATE and included a non-ratified version of the constitution.  You cannot judge people’s interest just because we’re busy and not posting random comments with little or no value.

    • “Well, post some meaty content we can talk about.”
That was my exact thought as well, FW.

    • I thought I was on Infowars for a minute. This site has become a joke. Paranoid right-wing fringe propaganda instead of insight on the silver market.

  3. This is funny… and it goes to show how absolutely ignorant our oath taking politicians and bureaucrats are on matters of the Constitution.   I see what their intent was here…to swear in on an original draft signed by GW as if to say “see… we LOVE the Constitution! Nothing to worry about!”  If they knew anything about the history of our founding they would have known that the bill of rights wasn’t added until later.  Clearly this was only symbolic, and it will also emphasize “we hold these truths to be self evident”, because it doesn’t matter if the bill of rights was there or not, it exists regardless if it is written down on paper or not.

    • @vmcd:  Exactly.  Even they’re not so stupid as to think the stunt could be construed as a proactive legal defense tactic.  It’s all about signaling and symbolisim. What’s up with Biden doing the ditty? I thought only the POTUS swore in high officials and all past CIA director appointments? Hmm… Maybe my memory fails…

“Not worth a bucket of warm piss.” — John Nance, 32nd Vice President of the United States, famously commenting on his job as veep.

  4. Here’s a bit of tin foil hat speculation.  There are some rumors on the net that Abu Bin Brennan converted to Islam while he was station chief in Saudi Arabia.  Obama, a faux Christian Islamist, now has a solid Muslim ally on his right. This is important as Obama is aware    The CIA is not known for its amicable relationships with presidents, preferring to remove them if they prove to inconvenient to their plans and goals. Keep my friends close, enemies closer and my fellow Muslims in check.

    • That does seem a bit too tightly wrapped, AG.  But, WTF?  Who knows anymore what levels of intrigue and skulduggery stalk the halls of power in DC.  Far more than we can possibly imagine would be my guess but even saying that will probably get me fitted for one of those tin hats too.  :-/

  5. Just idle speculation on my part Ed  It’s a puzzle part that fits IMO.  We’ll see how that evolves.  It reminds me of the series HOMELAND.  Brodie is elected as a member of Congress and the plot evolves from there.

  6. The majority of the previous presidents including Barack Obama have taken an oath that was saying that they would protect and obey the US constitution and yet, they didn’t. Because of that, what makes me think that the CIA director Brennan would not break the oath?
