Chris Martenson: We’re Going to Have a World Class Currency Crisis

Chris Martenson of says, “We have an economy that requires constant exponential growth . . . that won’t happen. We’re on an unsustainable course.” Martenson says the next 20 years will look nothing like the last 20 years. He predicts, “The crisis really is going to belong to the people who don’t see it coming.” Martenson believes, “Global growth will never return to its former glory days.” The days of cheap natural resources are gone. Martenson says to go along with that phenomenon, “The risks are piling up in the financial system. . . . The Federal Reserve is printing, printing, printing . . . we’re going to have a world class currency crisis.” Given the current situation of a broken money system and dwindling natural resources, Martenson says, “I don’t see how you avoid a hard landing at this point.” Join Greg Hunter as he goes One-on-One with Chris Martenson.

  1. Another one about what we already know and have heard a million times. We need a million more of these to make two million of them. These oped’s are proliferating faster than the fiat.

  2. I for one don’t believe we are out of Natural Resources. I believe it’s being held back by the Elite to drown us in debt to control us but they won’t succeed as it will eventually backfire on them.
I also believe that their are other Natural Resources which they are holding back that we don’t even know about but we will see them when this turmoil is over.

    • Resources are getting harder and harder to get to. Take oil shale or tar sand as an example. The cost to get the oil makes cheap oil a thing of the past. Add in growing demand and we are headed off an energy crisis cliff soon. Most other commodities are the same. Even food crops are at their limit. The land can only support so much and with the droughts happening more frequently crop yields are dropping hard.

    • Yes, there still are a lot of resources but the easy to get / cheap ones are pretty much gone now.  We can still get plenty of resources.  They’ll just cost more.

As to growing more food, sure, we can do that.  We could start by stopping the building of houses, apartments, and condos on prime farm land.  I see that going on ALL the time now and it’s a damned shame.

    • The resources that I’m talking about is the supression of newer technology that no one knows about just the Elite.
Is it not strange that very few or any new technology has been seen since the Industrial age? Sure we have Solar and Windmills but these are controlled. But we sure do have lots off new Military weapons and such so why not resources? Mmmmm
I believe there are very cheap ones out there that are being held back from the public.

The man has a talent for understatement.  Hard landing?  We are gonna land like a ton of bricks from 10,000 feet and no chute… more of a big SPLAT!
