The more Americans learn about Obamacare, the less they like it.  They were promised that under Obamacare they would be able to keep their current health insurance plans, that health insurance premiums would be lower, and that millions more Americans would be able to get coverage.  But none of those promises are turning out to be true.  Right now, millions of Americans are receiving cancellation notices from their health insurance companies – including many Americans that are in a life or death battle with cancer.  By the end of next year, it is being projected that up to 100 million more Americans could have their health insurance policies canceled.  Meanwhile, large numbers of Americans are discovering that their “new plans” are going to cost them two, three, four or even five times as much as their old plans cost them.  You are about to see some shocking examples of this.
The following are 10 Obamacare horror stories that are almost too crazy to believe…

From End of the American Dream:

Now that the reality of Obamacare is really starting to sink in for the American people, the popularity of the law is starting to drop like a rock.  According to a brand new CBS News poll that was just released, only 31 percent of all Americans still approve of Obamacare while an astounding 61 percent of all Americans now disapprove of it.  Perhaps if we get that number to 70 or 80 percent, the politicians in Washington D.C. will cave in and we can get this law repealed.  So please share this article with as many people as you possibly can.

Edie Littlefield Sundby: “My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

My choice is to get coverage through the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors, or pay much more for insurance outside the exchange (the quotes average 40% to 50% more) for the privilege of starting over with an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits.”

Patricia in North Carolina:”I am a 62 year old woman who has an individual policy with BCBS of North Carolina.  My premiums are $249.50 per month.  I bought the policy when I retired and moved to NC to be closer to my aging parents.  The policy is a high deductible one with a $2700 deductible, $5000 out of pocket maximum.  BCBS has told me my plan is no longer offered due to Obamacare and that my new plan will cost $600.55 per month and has a required an out of pocket maximum of $6350.”

Jacqueline Proctor: Take, for example, Jacqueline Proctor of San Francisco. She and her husband are in their early 60s. They have been paying $7,200 a year for a bare-bones Kaiser Permanente health plan with a $5,000 per person annual deductible. “Kaiser told us the plan does not comply with Obamacare and the substitute will cost more than twice as much,” about $15,000 per year, she says.

This new plan, Kaiser’s cheapest offering for 2014, would consume about 25 percent of their after-tax income. The new plan still has a $5,000 deductible but provides coverage for things her current policy does not, such as maternity care, healthy child visits and coverage for dependents up to age 26. Proctor has no use for such coverage, since her son is 30.

Gloria Cantor: Gloria Cantor of Florida has cancer — five brain tumors and tumors in her bones — but she won’t have the health insurance she has relied on for her treatment for much longer.

Mrs. Cantor and her husband, Jay, told WFTV in Orlando that their insurance is being dropped in order to comply with Obamacare regulations.

“The Cantors received [a] letter in the mail [that] explains Gloria’s health insurance will end next summer due to the Affordable Care Act,” reporter Lori Brown says. “But after promises by President Obama … the Cantors now feel betrayed. After the insurance company drops them, it will offer them a different plan that it admits will be more expensive. The Cantors are especially worried because their doctors cannot assure them that [the MD Anderson Cancer Center] will still accept the new plan.”

A Zero Hedge Reader: My company, based in California, employs 600. We used to insure about 250 of our employees. The rest opted out. The company paid 50% of their premiums for about $750,000/yr.

Under obamacare, none can opt out without penalty, and the rates are double or triple, depending upon the plan. Our 750k for 250 employees is going to $2 million per year for 600 employees.

By mandate, we have to pay 91.5% of the premium or more up from the 50% we used to pay.

Our employees share of the premium goes from $7/week for the cheapest plan to $30/week. 95% of my employees were on that plan.  Remember, we used to pay 50% now we pay 91.5% and the premiums still go up that much!!

The  cheapest plan now has a deductible of $6350! Before it was $150. Employees making $9 to $10/hr, have to pay $30/wk and have a $6350 deductible!!! What!!!!

They can’t afford that to be sure. Obamacare will kill their propensity to seek medical care. More money for less care? How does that help them?

Ashley Dionne: I graduated from The University of Michigan in 2009. In my state, this used to mean something, but even with a bachelor’s I was told I was too educated and wouldn’t stay. I watched as kids with GEDs and high school diploma’s took the low-paying jobs for which I applied.

I went back to school and got a second degree and finally found work at a gym. I work nights and only get 32 hours a week for eight dollars an hour. I’m unable to find a second job at this time.

I have asthma, ulcers, and mild cerebral palsy. Obamacare takes my monthly rate from $75 a month for full coverage on my “Young Adult Plan,” to $319 a month. After $6,000 in deductibles, of course.

Liberals claimed this law would help the poor. I am the poor, the working poor, and I can’t afford to support myself, let alone older generations and people not willing to work at all.

This law has raped my future.

It will keep me and kids my age from having a future at all.

This is the real face of Obamacare and it isn’t pretty.

George Schwab: George Schwab, 62, of North Carolina, said he was “perfectly happy” with his plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield, which also insured his wife for a $228 monthly premium. But this past September, he was surprised to receive a letter saying his policy was no longer available. The “comparable” plan the insurance company offered him carried a $1,208 monthly premium and a $5,500 deductible.

A Middle Class Texas Family: Obamacare is named the “Affordable Care Act,” after all, and the President promised the rates would be “as low as a phone bill.” But I just received a confirmed letter from a friend in Texas showing a 539% rate increase on an existing policy that’s been in good standing for years.

As the letter reveals (see below), the cost for this couple’s policy under Humana is increasing from $212.10 per month to $1,356.60 per month. This is for a couple in good health whose combined income is less than $70K — a middle-class family, in other words.

Michael Cerpok: “I’ve worked hard because I’ve had to, and I’ve had to, because cancer runs in my family,” says Cerpok, who picked his current health insurance based on that family history. His monthly premium is just about half of his monthly take-home pay.

Back in 2006, he found out he had an incurable form of leukemia that requires ongoing treatment until he dies.

In 2012, his treatment bill was more than $350,000. But because of his insurance, his out-of-pocket was only $4,500.

That’s about to change because Michael just got a letter from his insurance carrier saying as of January 1, he would be dropped from coverage because of new regulations under Obamacare.

Bill Elliot: Fox News host Megyn Kelly shared a heart rendering story Thursday night of a South Carolina man with cancer who is being forced to make what he sees as a life or death decision after his health insurance plan was cancelled because of Obamacare.

Bill Elliot, who voted for President Obama, contacted “The Kelly File” via Facebook and said he can no longer afford to pay his medical bills and does not want to take on the new costs because he does not want to put a “burden” on his family, according to Fox News.

Saying he feels “misled,” Elliott told Kelly his new insurance will cost him $1,500 per month with a $13,000 deductible, adding that he will opt to pay the minimal fine for not having health insurance and “will just let nature take its course.”

  1. As I read this thread-post and these ten horror stories about how O’Bummercare is creating more problems than it solves…
I am sitting in my bed recovering from having hernia surgery yesterday, so this topic strikes rather close to home!
Fortunately, my employer-sponsored health insurance will cover 80% of the cost, so instead of having had to delay this surgery any longer or worry about how to pay for it – instead I can focus on healing and getting back on my feet again.  My heart goes out to all of the people who have been affected by this MAJOR fiasco.
Fortunately, my crystal ball shows the ‘Affordable Care Act’ will be repealed, although it won’t happen soon enough for the folks whose stories are told above.

  2. Here is the Healthcare that everyone needs.  With it, “healthcare” will mostly be unnecessary, but why doesn’t government focus their efforts here????
Avoid/minimize “healthy whole grains”.  Fk’n stuff will rot your gut, brain, and body.
    Avoid GMOs.
Avoid Canola and Soy.  ANYTHING with this GMO toxic crap.
Avoid Fast food and processed foods. (read the labels)
Avoid Soda and sugary drinks.  (this is NOT food; this is hormone disruption that tells your body to STORE FAT… no shit)
What to eat:  keep it simple
Good oils: olive, avocado, coconut, clarified butter
Proteins: eggs, meat, fish (organic, if possible)
Vegetables: eat them often (organic, if possible)
Starches: minimize consumption (potatoes, rice, etc)  (not including wheat)

    • Potatoes and similar starches are not as bad as Wheat, but they have a tendency to elevate blood sugar.
Elevate blood sugar, elevate insulin. Elevate insulin… you are telling your body to STORE FAT. You also stress your pancreas.  But spuds and similar starches are fine in moderation.

Wheat… OMG!!  I don’t know where to begin.  Here is what I learned, and what I experienced avoiding wheat.
My experience eliminating +95% of “Healthy Whole Grains”:
      - Sleeping soundly, waking up READY to go
      - Dark circles under eyes gone << a surprising result!
      - Running/cycling faster and stronger
      - Energy levels way up
      - Excess body fat gone; clothes loosening way up
      - Allergies GONE!!
      - Joint aches/pains GONE!!
      - Mood better; clearer thinking; no brain fog
      - No need for between-meal snacks; late night snacking GONE
      - No more bloating after meals
      - No more craving for Wheat-based products!
The above effects are not unique to me.
Ok, now why did this happen…
      Wheat contains Amylopectin-A, Gliadin, Glutenin.
Amylopectin-A is a carb (sugar) that can raise your blood sugar level HIGHER than table sugar.  Yes, that slice of whole wheat bread raises it more than sugar.

Gliadin is like a drug; it can bind to opiate receptors in your brain just like heroin.
It makes you feel good and STIMULATES appetite.  NO FOOD should STIMULATE appetite.
This is why wheat is in MANY processed foods. Breakfast cereals are a joke.  Processed foods are designed to make your crave MORE!
Fast-releasing carbohydrates alter brain chemistry and create addiction to junk foods
Have you ever seen people get crazy around meal-time?
They literally have a addiction and they are unable to control their cravings.
Gliadin makes your intestine permeable to things IT SHOULD NOT BE.
When your gut is permeable, it will release unwanted proteins into your body.
Your body will defend itself, but it creates inflammation and may attack… ITSELF.
Your cortisol will go high and stay high.  Your immune system is now weakened.
You are vulnerable to a host of illnesses.
      Now ask yourself?
Why is Type 2 diabetes rising?  Obesity?
      Why is autism rising?  (2000: 1 in 150, 2010: 1 in 75)
      Arthritis?  Alzheimers?  Cancer?
Health starts with what you put into your body.
Now where does the government put resources?  Wheat, Soy, GMOs.
They back big-AGRA and big-PHARMA.  big-AGRA is out to maximize profit, not make you healthy. But then big-PHARMA comes in with a pill to fix what that fk’n GMO/wheat/soy did to your body and mind.
Ok, there is no way to cram this all into a single comment.  I hope you continue researching this on your own.
If you want some books and/or good videos on the topics, let me know.

    • That is GMO wheat, the older organic varieties are fine to eat. I was having issues with nausea, sudden weight loss etc, when I cut my daily whole wheat bread from my diet I got better in a couple months. I started baking my own bread from organic wheat flour I grind myself and no problems.

    • GMO events have not been approved in wheat grown commercially.  The only wheat found to have gmos is the recent story from oregon (and there are many conspiracy theories floating around that this was a planted scare from the eco-terrorists).  I have reserved judgement on that until there is proof. It is believed this wheat was a monsanto test variety but nobody really knows how it got out.
The wheat found was resistant to glyphosate, roundup.  Testing for this event is easy to do and has been done many times across the country since this was found, no traces of gmo anywhere. Even the eastern countries that initially boycotted any wheat from the PNW are satisfied after extensive testing showed no signs of gmo in any shipments.
I have read more and more that getting wheat out of the diet, organic or otherwise, is a good thing.  I have seen it do wonders for my mom who had multiple circulation and other problems that have improved after a doc suggested going gluten free.

    • Great video,PrometevBezkrilov.
The doctor’s diet is similar to the Dr. Mercola food pyramid.
As the doctor says, there is a food revolution coming.  It will come to America, slowly, as the zombie’s will be slow to accept the truth… as usual.

    • @PrometeyBezkrilov great video thank you and I also went to his site.

The idea to eat less fat and less saturated fat was certainly a mistake. Inadvertently that advice may be the biggest reason behind the epidemics of obesity and diabetes. More and more people realize this. It’s time for a health revolution.

  3. Here’s my take on why ” wheat ” is getting pushed under the bus. While it is definitely true that the proteins described by Tyrone exist in wheat and that gluten in modern wheat exacerbates and even is the cause of malady, the main reason, the only reason that “whole grains” are no longer good for most people is that “most people” no longer are required to perform manual labor from Sun up to Sun down six days a week ( in my case seven ) and can not possibly burn the calories they intake in a week let alone a day. I’m 47, 6 5′ 290 and I eat like it’s goin outta style. Grains included. I also work for a living. And I don’t mean push papers around or punch keys on a keyboard ( not that I don’t do that too but I sweat two shirts before most of you step out your front door in the morning). No diabetes here, I’ve got aches and pains but jumping out of perfectly fine flying vehicles in my youth certainly didn’t help. I get 7 -9 hours of sleep every day and yes I have three kids, a wife, a mortgage and a truck payment. Welcome to my world. Canola if not GMO and not chemically synthesized is just fine. Same for corn and soy. I juice for breakfast ( wheat grass, kale, garlic, ginger etc. etc. ) and my wife cooks 5+ days a week. As the song goes… pardon the paraphrase ” I ain’t as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was” . HoooRaaah Carry on !

  4. Bill Elliot (#10) is being killed by the government yet he is still going to pay Obama his $95 (or 1%) tribute!? Even in their death throes people will not disobey. Now THAT is sick.
Elliot said “he will opt to pay the minimal fine for not having health insurance and “will just let nature take its course.””

    • In thinking about this some more, I’ve come to realize the overarching theme of all these Obamacare “horror” story articles has not so much been that 0care is horrible but that you should bend over and take it.

Nowhere is there outrage and defiance. It’s only ‘I’ll find a way to pay’ or ‘I’m going to curl up and die.’  Yeah, ‘woe is me’ is the theme of the day.

And on top of that, where is the recognition in these articles that these insurance companies could put a stop to this right here and right now.  If they together took a stand and declared “we will not allow these people to be killed” and dared the government to do something about it, they would prevail.  But because of greed or fear, or both, they won’t.

Furthermore, it’s not just the executives and the governing boards that are at fault. In fact, EVERY SINGLE PERSON who works for an insurance company that cancels just one policy that results in someone’s death is complicit in MURDER. Everyone.  From the janitors who clean the floors and empty the waste baskets, mail room staff, IT geeks, clerks, agents, to the supervisors, staff of all ilk are required to keep the insurance machine running and churning out the death notices.
And this applies doubly so to anyone, EVERYONE, who works for the government.  It matters not whether they are directly connected with 0care.  They all have a role, however large or small, in keeping the wheels of government grinding forward.
Ultimately, it’s also true for EVERY one of us who pays to keep the system running.  We each will have had a part in killing Bill Elliot, Gloria Cantor and all the others as surely as if we collectively put a gun to their heads and together pulled the trigger. Every single one of their families, friends, neighbors, associates and countrymen will owe them the courtesy to look them in the eye and say “I’m sorry I helped kill you because I couldn’t bring myself to do otherwise.”

    • @Silver Alert
Agreed.  The MSM is awash in stories about what the Dems in DC will do, have done, and will do.  Same for the Repubs.  I say, BFD!  What they do and say does not matter diddly compared to what WE do.  If 100M Americans refuse to put up with this BS, it will become untenable and collapse of its own Frankenstein weight.  Young people are not flocking to Obamunist Care, primarily because is is too expensive, does less than their current cheaper plans, and the Gov has committed the ultimate techie sin by being electronically incompetent with their stupid web site.  What are they going to do if they meet MASSIVE resistance to this dumb idea?  Fine us all?  Jail us all?  Hardly.  Even trying something like that will only result in the creation of a huge new anti-Gov voting block and that’s the very last thing that these wool pullers want.
I do have a hard time feeling a lot of sympathy for the gullible, however… those who listened to all the BS about the ACA and then voted for those who were pushing it.  Remember the old, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true”?  Well, this is a classic case and it was brought to us by the most liberal US senator cum president in US history.  Is it any wonder that it is turning American ideals upside down and that the vast majority of Americans hate it with a passion?  It is a pity that they had to stick their finger on that red-hot stove before they recognized that it was HOT.  Many of us recognized that right from the get-go and spoke out about it.  What we got in return was often not thoughtful comment and discourse but ridicule.  Now that its problems are sufficiently obvious to one and all, however, the sob stories are coming out of the woodwork.  I will reserve my sympathy for those who recognized this crock for what it is, voted against it, and lost.

  5. @mikeyj80
Mikey, is the Doc that recommended to go “gluten free” the same Doc that prescribes pharmaceuticals with a myriad of detrimental side effects hence the blood tests every 60-90 days, and also administers “vaccines” with adjuvants such as mercury and formaldehyde… and tells you it’s for your own good because he knows better? If so, I’ve got this beautiful bridge here in NYC that I would gladly sell to you for a “fair” price ;-)

    • There are literally hundreds of books out there about wheat but the best one Ive found is called ” Wheat Belly”  by William Davis, MD.   He is a cardiologist who recommends this practice to his patients without other medicines and has seen drastic results.. I myself have lost 30 pounds following his book which has the physiology and details about how this is achieved in your body along with numerous delicious recipes in it.  there are over 25000 different kinds of morphed wheat and none are like your grandma used back in the 1920′s.   And it is NOT a diet, but a lifestyle change and not everyone has the power to accomplish it.

    • Nothing else prescribed other than gluten free.  I don’t visit the same doctor so i cannot speak to his practices. No doubt all kinds of varieties of wheat, not discounting that, but selective breeding is different than splicing a gene out of a bacteria and putting it in a plant.
As for vaccines, certainly have been issues on very isolated cases.  Watch Penn and Tellers ‘bs’ episode on the subject if you want my unbiased opinion on vaccines,  Seeing whooping cough starting to make a comeback and outbreaks of measles would not be something I would be proud of hanging my hat on as an anti-vaccine advocate.

  6. I think we have ALL missed the bus. It is unfortunate that people can’t afford this new insurance and that people are being dropped. HOWEVER – The real story is that WE should not be mandated by government what we MUST buy what they tell us to buy. If WE allow the government to do this to us – they will soon tell US what kind of car we can drive and where we must live. We better get our act together and realize what the true story is here before they take complete control of our lives. It is time to take a stand and rebel against all of these gangsters. Surely, WE can come up with a plan to stay free.
